Day 5 - Manning Park to Keremeos

Read in French (provided by Google Translate)
Distance:133km (GPS gave wrong reading)
Time:4:56
Ascent:848m
Total Time:14:03
Average:30.6km/h
Weather: Bright sun from morning 'till evening. But the temperature in the morning was around 10C (that cold enough to blow smoke!), and then quickly raised to above 25C
Total Distance:412.65km

Today was a "complete" day. We got everything. It started with an amazingly cold morning in Maning Park. But at least it was bright sun. I finally was able to get my sun cream out and start spreading it! But to handle the expected wide spread of temperature we all had to stack a lot of layers, and we slowly took off each layer.

The scenery was simply fabulous. Again, no words can describe what we saw today. I had to stop often to adjust to the weather (hot when climbing, cold when going down), and took every occasion to appreciate the nature engulfing me.
We had our first long descent, 3-4 kilometers of going down hill. It was on the verge of exciting and dangerous. But the curbs are really nice in this part of the country and we're taking full adventage of it!

This evening we're staying in Elks Motel in Keremeos, just by the name i'm sure you can imagine that it's fairly crappy. You can see the whole city by walking about 10 minutes. 1st Street is litterally a driveway for the first home of the city.

Keremeos is the city of cherries, i was finally able to fully content myself with cherries (remember i had to give away my bag of cherries in Vancover)

Can you count the number of trees on this picture?

Stop for lunch at the Brown Bridge Pub in Princeton

City of Hedley known for it's gold mine.

Alain
